You've been thinking about this trip for weeks. Maybe months. And somewhere between the excitement and the open browser tabs, a quieter feeling settled in — what if I get lost, what if I get scammed, what if I eat every meal alone and don't know where to go or who to ask?
That feeling is why we built this.
RideRishikesh is a local team from Rishikesh. We know every road, every ghat, every hidden viewpoint, and every place that's genuinely worth your time — and every place that isn't. Our Solo Travel Retreat is not a group bus tour. It is not a yoga retreat. It is not a generic package where you're handed a PDF itinerary and left to figure it out.
It is this: we come with you. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, one of our local team members is by your side — planning your day, riding with you, eating with you, answering your questions, and making sure you actually experience this part of the Himalayas the way it deserves to be experienced.
Your hotel is sorted. Your food is arranged. Your transport is covered. Your itinerary is built around you — your pace, your interests, your comfort level.
Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Dehradun, Devprayag, Tehri — wherever the plan takes us, we handle everything so you don't have to.
"Aman was genuinely wonderful. He was kind, friendly, patient and professional, and I always felt completely safe with him. When travelling to a new place, having a driver you can trust makes such a difference. I felt very well looked after, and I could simply enjoy the day and discover Rishikesh at my own pace."
Safe, Curated Exploration Across the Himalayas
You want to experience Rishikesh — the Ganga ghats, the sunrise temples, the cafés, the hidden spots — but you don't want to navigate it alone. You're not scared of India. You just want someone you can trust by your side who knows the place. That is exactly what this is.
Too many options, not enough local knowledge. You've read the blogs and watched the reels but you still don't know which areas are actually good to stay in, which temple is worth the early morning, or how to get to Kunjapuri without an expensive taxi. We remove all of that uncertainty.
You've travelled before. You know how to handle airports and foreign cities. But India has its own rhythm — and Rishikesh specifically has its own version of that. Having a local who speaks your language (English + everything else that comes with being genuinely local) is not a luxury here. It's the difference between a good trip and a great one.
You're doing a 200-hour TTC or a week-long retreat and you have days off. You don't want to spend them figuring out autos and negotiating prices with drivers who see a foreigner and double the rate. We sort your free days so they're actually free.
The growing tribe of Indian professionals who travel solo for mental health, spiritual reset, or simply because they want to. You have the budget and the intent — you just want someone who's done this a hundred times to plan it properly.

The spiritual capital of Uttarakhand and your home base for the retreat. Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Bajrang Setu, Janki Setu, Triveni Ghat, Shatrughan Ghat, Beatles Ashram, Tapovan cafés, Parmarth Niketan, Ganga Aarti, sunrise from the ghats. Plus the places we don't list publicly — hidden viewpoints, quiet spots on the river, and local corners that have kept their character precisely because they aren't on any blog.
Altitude: 372m | Best season: Oct–May | Distance from Jolly Grant: 18–20 km

One of the most spectacular sunrise viewpoints in Uttarakhand — a hilltop temple at ~1,675m above Narendra Nagar with a 360° view of the Himalayan range on a clear morning. We leave before 5 AM. What you see at the top is worth every dark kilometre of the ride up.
Distance from Rishikesh: ~25 km | Best time: Pre-dawn departure | Season: Year-round
The hilltop town above Rishikesh — former royal seat of the Tehri kings, now home to one of India's most respected wellness retreats (Ananda in the Himalayas). Narendra Nagar offers sweeping views of the Rishikesh valley below and a very different, quieter atmosphere from the ghat area. A natural add-on to any Kunjapuri morning.
Distance from Rishikesh: ~15 km | Great for: Sunset, valley views, photography
The closest major holy city to Rishikesh, 24 km away. Har Ki Pauri — the most sacred ghat in Haridwar — hosts India's most photographed Ganga Aarti every evening. The crowd, the diyas floating on the river, the sound, the Himalayan water rushing past stone steps — it is unlike anything else in North India. We go in the evening, arriving in time for the aarti and the walk through the old market.
Distance from Rishikesh: ~24 km | Best time: Evening aarti | Season: Year-round
Where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet and become the Ganga. A small, ancient pilgrim town at the confluence — one of the Panch Prayag (five sacred river confluences of Uttarakhand). Standing at the point where the two rivers join — one grey-green, one turquoise — is one of the most quietly powerful experiences in Garhwal. The drive there from Rishikesh follows the river the whole way.
Distance from Rishikesh: ~72 km | Duration: Half-day or full day | Season: Year-round
Uttarakhand's most famous hill station at ~2,000m. Mall Road, Kempty Falls, Gun Hill, Lal Tibba viewpoint, Camel's Back Road. Mussoorie has a completely different character from the spiritual energy of Rishikesh — British-era architecture, mountain air, street food, and a valley view that stretches toward the plains. A full day here is part of the 5-day Deep Escape package.
Distance from Rishikesh: ~75 km via Dehradun | Duration: Full day | Best season: March–June, Sept–Nov
The new Tehri town sits above the massive Tehri Dam reservoir — one of Asia's highest dams. The reservoir itself is extraordinary: an inland sea of still blue-green water ringed by mountains. Boat rides on the reservoir, views of the drowned old Tehri town below the waterline, and the scale of the dam are all worth experiencing. A quieter, less-visited destination that most tourist packages skip entirely.
Distance from Rishikesh: ~85 km | Duration: Half or full day | Season: Year-round
The state capital — more city than mountain town, but with its own character. Forest Research Institute (one of the most beautiful colonial buildings in India), Robbers Cave (Guchhupani), Mindrolling Monastery, Sahastradhara. Worth a half-day on longer custom retreats.
Distance from Rishikesh: ~43 km | Duration: Half-day | Season: Year-round
For 7+ day custom retreats: Kartik Swami, Tungnath & Chandrashila, Harsil Valley, Gangotri, Panch Prayag (all five confluences), Panch Kedar (all five Shiva temples), Panch Badri (all five Vishnu temples), Dayara Bugyal, Madhyamaheshwar Valley, and more.

"Ashu and his team at RideRishikesh really helped make my time in Rishikesh such a wonderful experience. Ashu arranged Aman as my guide, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. We visited the Beatles Ashram, went up to Kunjapuri Temple, stopped around Tapovan, and explored some beautiful viewpoints along the way.
Aman was genuinely wonderful. He was kind, friendly, patient and professional, and I always felt completely safe with him. He was a very responsible driver and made me feel comfortable from the moment we set off. He was also happy to stop when I wanted to take in a view or look around, which made the day feel relaxed.
When travelling to a new place, having a driver you can trust makes such a difference. I felt very well looked after, and I could simply enjoy the day and discover Rishikesh at my own pace. I'm really grateful to Ashu for arranging everything and to Aman for making my days off so enjoyable!"

We're a small, local team. That is the point. You're not booking with a travel corporation — you're booking with people who live here, love this place, and will treat your trip the way they'd want a friend treated in their city.
Born & Raised in Rishikesh — Honest, Reliable Guidance Every Step of the Way
Rishikesh is genuinely one of the safest places in India for solo female travellers. The spiritual character of the town, the strong local community, and the significant international traveller presence make it a very different environment from a big Indian city.
That said — navigating an unfamiliar place alone, in a country with a different language and transportation culture, carries its own stress. The auto driver who charges double. The person at the ghat who won't leave you alone. Not knowing which areas are good to walk in at night. These are real concerns, and we don't dismiss them.
The goal is simple: you focus on experiencing the place. We handle everything else.
