Char Dham Taxi Service from Rishikesh, Haridwar & Dehradun

🏔️ Sacred Gateway Circuits

Reliable Char Dham Taxi Service in Uttarakhand

Most Char Dham pilgrims arrive in Uttarakhand through one of three gateways — Rishikesh, Haridwar, or Dehradun. Whichever one you land in, RideRishikesh can pick you up and start your yatra from there.

Starting from Rishikesh — our base location, and the most common starting point for the Char Dham circuit. Direct pickup from any hotel, ashram, or guesthouse.

Starting from Haridwar — many pilgrims arrive by train at Haridwar Railway Station before continuing toward the dhams. We provide pickup directly from the station or your Haridwar hotel.

Starting from Dehradun — for travellers flying into Jolly Grant Airport or arriving by train at Dehradun, we offer direct pickup with onward travel toward the Char Dham routes — no need to first travel to Rishikesh separately.

Across all four routes — Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri — our drivers know the roads, the seasonal conditions, and what pilgrims need at each stage of the journey.

🧗

Rishikesh to Kedarnath Taxi

Approximately 220 km to Gaurikund (the Kedarnath road-head), via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Agastmuni — around 7-8 hours. From Gaurikund, the temple is reached by trek, pony, or seasonal helicopter. We can arrange your return pickup from Gaurikund once your darshan is complete.

🏔️

Rishikesh to Badrinath Taxi

Approximately 300 km, fully road-accessible all the way to the temple — around 9-10 hours via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Joshimath. One of the most scenic high-altitude drives in the Char Dham circuit.

🌊

Rishikesh to Gangotri Taxi

Approximately 250 km via Tehri and Uttarkashi — around 8-9 hours. The road follows the Bhagirathi river for much of the journey, with road access directly to the temple town.

🪵

Rishikesh to Yamunotri Taxi

Approximately 220 km to Janki Chatti (the Yamunotri road-head) via Mussoorie and Barkot — around 7-8 hours. From Janki Chatti, the temple is reached by a short trek of approximately 6 km.

🚂 Alternative Railway Hub

Char Dham Taxi from Haridwar

Haridwar is the first major stop for many pilgrims arriving by train from across India — Har Ki Pauri and the Ganga Aarti are often the starting point of the spiritual journey before the yatra itself begins.

🚉

Railway station pickup

— we provide direct pickup from Haridwar Railway Station, with onward travel toward your chosen dham(s) without needing a separate transfer to Rishikesh first.

🏨

Hotel pickup

— if you're staying overnight in Haridwar before starting the yatra, we pick up directly from your hotel.

📊

The driving distances from Haridwar to each dham are roughly similar to those from Rishikesh (an additional ~20-25 km), so travel times are only marginally longer.

✈️ Flight Connection Node

Char Dham Taxi from Dehradun

For travellers flying in, Dehradun is often the entry point to Uttarakhand.

🛬

Jolly Grant Airport pickup — direct pickup from Jolly Grant Airport with onward travel toward the Char Dham routes. This saves the time and cost of a separate transfer to Rishikesh before starting your yatra.

🏨

Dehradun hotels — pickup from any hotel in Dehradun city for travellers who've arrived by train or are staying overnight before the yatra.

🧭

Direct pickup, no detours — whether you're heading toward Yamunotri (via Mussoorie), or toward Gangotri/Kedarnath/Badrinath (via Rishikesh-Devprayag), we plan the most direct route from your Dehradun pickup point.

Vehicle Options for Char Dham Yatra

4-Seater Sedan

Examples: Dzire, Etios Suitable for: Couples, small families

A practical, economical choice for smaller groups. Works well for Badrinath and Gangotri routes (mostly paved roads). Less ideal for the rougher final stretches toward Gaurikund and Janki Chatti.

7-Seater SUV

Examples: Ertiga, Innova Suitable for: Families, senior citizens, pilgrim groups

The most popular and recommended choice for Char Dham. Better ground clearance, more comfortable seating for long drives, and more reassuring on mountain roads — especially important for senior citizens and groups travelling together.

🔄 Geographic Circuit Order

Popular Char Dham Route Flow

The traditional Char Dham circuit follows a specific sequence, based on geography and tradition:

Base Hub

Rishikesh

Dham 1

Yamunotri

(via Mussoorie, Barkot, Janki Chatti)

Dham 2

Gangotri

(via Uttarkashi)

Dham 3

Kedarnath

(via Guptkashi, Gaurikund)

Dham 4

Badrinath

(via Joshimath)

💡

This sequence minimises backtracking across the Garhwal Himalayas and is the route most pilgrim groups follow for the complete circuit. Individual dhams can, of course, be visited in any order or independently of the others.

Frequently Asked Questions — Char Dham Taxi Service

Ask on WhatsApp
A1: Yes, with the right planning. We recommend a 7-seater SUV for better comfort, and itineraries with more rest days and shorter daily drives for senior citizens. Note that Kedarnath and Yamunotri involve treks from the road-head — pony, palki, or seasonal helicopter options may be worth considering for these two dhams, and we're happy to discuss this when planning.
A2: A single dham typically takes 3–5 days. Two dhams (Do Dham) take around 6–8 days. The complete four-dham circuit usually takes 10–12 days from Rishikesh, including travel and rest days.
A3: A 7-seater SUV is recommended for most pilgrims due to better comfort and ground clearance on mountain roads. A 4-seater sedan can work for Badrinath or Gangotri (mostly paved routes) for smaller groups, but is less ideal for Kedarnath and Yamunotri's rougher final stretches.
A4: Yes. We provide pickup directly from Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) with onward travel toward your chosen dham(s) — no need for a separate transfer to Rishikesh first.
A5: Yes. We pick up from Haridwar Railway Station or any hotel in Haridwar and proceed directly toward the Char Dham routes.
A6: Yes. Char Dham Yatra registration is typically required by the Uttarakhand government and can usually be completed online before travel. We recommend finishing this in advance, and we can guide you on the current process when you book with us.
A7: September–October generally offers the best combination of stable weather, good road conditions, and lower crowds compared to the June peak season.
A8: No. Kedarnath temple is reached by a trek of approximately 16 km from Gaurikund, the nearest road-head. We provide taxi service to Gaurikund and can arrange return pickup once your trek and darshan are complete.
A9: Yes. For complete Char Dham circuit packages, the same vehicle and driver travel with you throughout the journey for continuity, convenience, and comfort.
A10: Monsoon season (July–August) increases landslide risk on several routes, particularly toward Kedarnath and Badrinath. Travel during this period is possible but requires flexibility, and we monitor road conditions closely before any monsoon departure.
